How to retrieve your lost Globe mobile number? Here’s how

Nearly two weeks ago, I lost my 16-month old mobile phone inside the cab. I was with my mom and we’re already homebound. I only noticed that my phone is missing when we got home. I was seated beside the driver’s seat and I reckon that any of these two scenarios happened:

1) I put the phone in my lap and forgot to put it back to my pocket.

2) I didn’t notice it slip out of my pocket.

Because of my negligence and the driver’s apparent dishonesty (I have a strong reason to believe that he saw my phone), my beloved phone is gone forever. Losing a phone is not really a problem (unless it is an IPhone, LOL).

Asking for everyone’s numbers is challenging (especially if you have not saved those anywhere else). Then, you have to disseminate to your circle of friends and colleagues your new number. Very time consuming, right? Globe subscribers need not worry about this problem anymore. Let me detail out how you can solve your predicament:

Thanks to the Globe Business Center, their subscribers can still use their old numbers!

1) Find out where the nearest Globe Business Center (GBC) is. For Quezon City residents, there’s one in UP Ayala Technohub (where I went), TriNoMa, and in Gateway Mall. Check this listing if you are living in Metro Manila. You may also call Globe hotline 730-1000.

2) Make sure to bring at least one valid ID

3) You no longer need to submit a duly notarized Affidavit of Loss IF you can remember at least two numbers you dialed using your lost SIM. Luckily, I was able to list three. A lady GBC personnel provided me with an Affidavit of Loss template. I only had to write the specific details of how my phone got lost.

3.1) If you are not sure if you still remember the phone numbers you called using your lost SIM, go to a lawyer and prepare an Affidavit of Loss. Provide the following details:

a. Your mobile number

b. The month and year when you began using the said SIM

c. The circumstances leading to the phone’s loss

4) The attending GBC personnel, upon confirmation of the numbers you listed, will then insert on your phone a newly reconfigured SIM whose number now matches your lost one. Allow 30 minutes to one hour before you can begin reusing your number.

Going to a GBC during your lunch break is not advisable. Make sure to allot two hours for this. Although the process of retrieving your old number takes time in itself, remember that you have to fall in line first. 🙂

UPDATE 12/5/2015 – Unfortunately, I lost my phone FOUR MORE TIMES after writing this post with the latest one, just yesterday.

Yesterday, I went to GBC-Technohub again and to their credit, they were able to replace my lost SIM again. I’d like to make some notes from my latest experience:

  1. I was asked to have a duly-notarized affidavit of loss (I had to pay P60).
  2. They asked me to provide a number that I called or texted on the day the phone was lost.
  3. I still had to pay P40 for the SIM replacement
  4. There’s no more waiting time for the SIM to be activated

  5. Old number mo parin po binigay sa’yo or bago na? Yung sim card ko kasi bigla na lang parang na deactivate pero siya ginagamit ko lagi. Hassle kasi pag nagbago pa ko ng number. Pero sim ko since 2008 pa. 🙁

  6. Sakin walang siningil pero sa officemate ko siningil sya ng 50 pesos same branch lang kami ng pinuntahan. tatanungin ka nila kung gano na katagal sayo yung sim and dun nila i babased kung free or magbabayad ka pa. one more thing pala, kung may load yung sim mo na nawala, andun pa din yun sa new sim na gagawin nila.

  7. i just retrieved my number with a new sim, ok lang ba na when you put the new sim , it will say ‘sim card registration failed’? how long will you wait? thankyou

going to a famous blogger if you are not already 😉 Cheers!

      1. I lost my phone yesterday and guess what? it’s a fucking iPhone! I know I’m an idiot. Anyways, this is the first thing I did, well besides change my FB and YM password. I searched on how to retrieve lost glb numbers. Your blog is the most helpful so thank you! Your my savior! 😀

  10. Hey guys.. I lost my number yesterday (apr. 4, 13) and was able to retrieve it today (apr. 5, 13). I went to Globe Business Centre (GBC) – ‘Techno Hub’.

My advice is DON’T go to GBC braches that are located inside malls’.

    At Techno Hub.
    1) They asked for my ID.
    2) Filed-up a form about declaring that I did in fact lost my number.
    3) Paid 40 pesos for the new temporary-sim they will give you because your new sim [with your previous number] will not be activated for at least 24 hrs.

    * No Affidavit of Loss needed.
    * No 2 contacts you dialed were needed.

That’s it. The staffs there were accommodating and friendly also, unlike those at Gateway and Alimall.

    1. new temporary-sim?ndi n b ttnungin kung anung serial no. ng sim mo?kasi mukang naiwala ko na ata ung akin,..anong contact no./landline ng GBC technohub?thanks

  11. Is this applicable with damaged sim cards? Bigla na lang kasing hindi makasagap ng signal sa kahit anong phone. Mahigit limang taon ko na ‘tong number. Thanks. 😀

I think I’ll come back here later to see what exactly else you really have available! 😉 I’m really going to view if
I may possibly find something relevant to vizio led
    tv price!!

  14. Ano ba yan bkt iba iba ang price, report kaya natin yan sa NTC, me mahal, tapos mura. Im planning to replace my sim also in gateway. let see if they’ll gonna ask me for fee.

  15. Hello! This is a very helpful blog. I never thought a cellphone number could be retrieved and transferred to a new SIM. My phone was stolen last Friday (October 18, 2013) so I searched the net for possible solutions and I found this blog. Went to Globe Business Center in Podium (Ortigas). I just showed my valid ID, the old card where the SIM was attached and paid 40 pesos. Fast and easy. 🙂

        1. @Mark Madrona: Was emphasizing on the “Prepaid SIM” as some might think it’s a Postpaid SIM. People usually think na if they lost a Prepaid SIM they won’t able to retrieve the number anymore. 🙂

    1. i also lost my cp. And want to retrieve my number. but what if i already lost the sim pack. is that really matter?

  16. I am extremely inspired along with your writing talents and also with the layout in your blog.
Is that this a paid subject matter or did you customize it yourself?
Either way stay up the excellent high quality writing,
it’s uncommon to peer a great weblog like this one today..

  23. What i do not realize is if truth be told how you are now not
actually a lot more well-preferred than you may be right
now. You’re so intelligent. You know therefore considerably when it comes
to this subject, produced me individually believe it from a
lot of numerous angles. Its like men and women don’t seem to be involved except it is something to accomplish with Lady gaga!
