White Party Manila 2013 slated for June 29

With gender equality, unity, and acceptance as its main focus, White Party (WP) Manila will once more be held this June 29. The event is dubbed as the biggest yearly gathering of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgender (LGBT) in the country. Now on its twelfth year, the event will again be staged in Orosa-Nakpil  Malate, the “center of gay night life in the Philippines.”

WP Manila 2013 will be headlined by Internet celebrity Sebastian Castro. Early this year, the openly gay singer and painter’s series of YouTube videos about his sexuality became hot commodity in the social media. This led one website to describe him as the next Filipino gay icon.

This year’s White Party is organized by Chelu Productions in coordination with the Malate Business Association. Several organizations promoting LGBT-related advocacies are also backing the event.

Raffy Aquino, one of the organizers of WP Manila, explained that the color white is significant to the LGBT community. “White is a combination of all the colors in the spectrum. It shows unity and solidarity among the LGBT people and the straight allies, gathering together in one event to celebrate pride,” he said.

The struggle of the Filipino LGBT community for equal rights in the country will be recognized during the event while the street party starts at 8PM. It will feature the latest club music from select DJs, with guest performances and special production numbers.

General admission tickets cost P200 while VIP tickets with unlimited drinks are P1000 each. Contact 09278613913 for ticket inquiries and reservations. Visit their official Facebook page for more details.
