Araw ng Makati 2014 holiday?

Makati Day 2014

Makati City will be marking its 344th foundation day anniversary this June 1, Sunday. Despite the occasion, the day is not expected to be declared a special non-working holiday. For example, the school calendar of University of Makati, a government-run institution, proves this fact.

Nevertheless, the local government under the leadership of Mayor Junjun Binay has already scheduled a list of activities to celebrate the said event. According to the city government’s official website, there will be a grand parade titled “Cultural Presentation of the Makateños” on May 27.

The competition will feature students from the city’s public high schools including San Isidro High School (performing Ati-Atihan Festival), Pio del Pilar High School (Dinagyang Festival), Pitogo High School (Kadayawan Festival), Fort Bonifacio High School (Sinulog Festival), and San Antonio High School (Maskara Festival).
