November 30 2014 Bonifacio Day holiday
The Philippines will be marking the 151st birth anniversary of national hero Andres Bonifacio this November 30.
President Benigno Aquino III last year declared the said day as a regular holiday nationwide through Proclamation 655 (access it here). November 30 falls on a Sunday this year.
Will the celebration be moved to the nearest Monday, in this case December 1, so that Filipinos can enjoy a three-day weekend? This is not likely because President Aquino has made it clear from the start of his term that he is not in favor of the so-called “holiday economics” policy implemented by his predecessor, former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
According to the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Handbook on Workers’ Statutory Monetary Benefits (2014 edition), “an employee is entitled to at least 100% of his/her minimum wage rate even if he/she did not report for work, provided he/she is present or is on leave of absence with pay on the work day immediately preceding the holiday.” The entire handbook can be downloaded in this link (proceed to page 10).
For individuals employed in the business process outsourcing industry, working during weekends is oftentimes a necessity. In that case, DOLE reiterates that if a holiday falls on the scheduled rest day of the employee, “work performed on the said day merits at least an additional 30% of the employee’s regular holiday rate of 200% or a total of at least 260%.”
“When a regular holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday shall not be a holiday, unless a proclamation is issued declaring it a special day,” the labor department added.

I hope it’s holiday, as a college student we need some break and we always have monday exam please make it holiday!!! we are soo STRESS!
But my mom heard it on a local news that monday is holiday because bonifacio day is already moved.. how true is it?
