Reviewing the year 2014 for The Filipino Scribe!
First of all, please allow me to greet you a Happy New Year! I am with you in wishing that the coming year will be good for all of us. May we experience positive things and bigger opportunities in all aspect of life this 2015.
The year 2014 has been a very good one for The Filipino Scribe and for me personally (Isn’t it that 2014 should be lucky for me as someone born in the Year of the Horse? LOL). After years of indecision, it has finally been upgraded into a self-hosted site under WordPress.org. The cost is not cheap and the transition wasn’t at all easy, but it is really worth it. Thanks to ad networks like Google Adsense, Infolinks, and Nuffnang, this blog is now profiting unlike in the years prior.

The Filipino Scribe now has received 3.5 million page views, or about 75,000 views per month. I know those figures pale in comparison with other websites, but I guess I should still be thankful for that knowing that TFS remains a one-man project for me and that I don’t get to write as often as I would’ve liked because of time constrains. This year, I will explore having contributing writers just so the website content will remain up to date.
I’d like to thank Technological Institute of the Philippines – Quezon City and De La Salle – College of Saint Benilde for believing in my ability to teach young minds.
Also, I want to give a shout out to those that gave me speaking opportunities this year: De La Salle University-Manila, DLSU-Dasmarinas, National Nutrition Council, Old Balara Elementary School, Dr. Corazon Ignacio of the UP Manila College of Public Health, Ms Amy Navaro of Ponciano Bernardo High School, and Mapua Institute of Technology.
Before I end this, let me share with you some of my goals for 2015. I want to achieve greater financial independence and good health for me, my family, and everyone else. I’m also aiming for more career milestones this year. Of course, I need to finish my long-pending master’s thesis before the year ends. And last but not the least, to be in a committed relationship. :p
