The show began with the four coaches,  Sarah Geronimo, APL D Ap, Bamboo Manalac, and Lea Salonga, performing Christina Aguilera’s “Feel this Moment” as an opening number.

Below are the mechanics in determining the winner of The Voice of the Philippines Season 2 (credits to the Facebook page of Lea Salonga):

1) There will be four rounds of performances, and voting lines will be opened after each round.

2) Only one vote per SIM is allowed per round.

ROUND 1 (Duet with a guest artist):

*Alisah Bonaobra performed “Ako ang Nagwagi” with OPM icon Dulce.

(Salonga and Geronimo complimented Alisah for daring to sing with Dulce, but they do not seem to be very impressed by her performance.)

*Rence Rapanot of Team Bamboo sang “Karaniwang Tao” with Joey Ayala and Bayang Barrios. It was a lively performance, but it didn’t quite have the “wow” factor in it.

*Leah Patricio of Team Lea performed with power balladeer Jed Madela.

Geronimo said: “Kahit hindi ka manalo dito, sana magpatuloy ka dahil kailangang-kailangan ka ng industriya.”

*Jason Dy of Team Sarah sang “Wrecking Ball” with international star Charice. Coach Bamboo praised his intensity, saying: “You brought your game face.”

ROUND 2 (Happy song):

*Jason Dy took on Chris Brown’s “With You.” Coach Sarah praises his performance, saying “Isang karangalan na makatrabaho ka.”

*Alisah Bonaobra sang Beyonce Knowles’ “Love on Top.”

*Rence Rapayon performed the 80s classic “Estudyante Blues.”

*Leah Patricio sang David Guetta and Sia’s “Titanium.” Her coach yelled in excitement: “Deserving ka manalo rito!”

  1. Saturday night’s performance–duet with established artists–
    1. Duet with dulce was excellent: dulce knows her place, she lets the voice of the contestant shine
    2. Jed and Leah’s duet is also commendable where both jed and Leah do not outshine each other…both voices reveal each uniqueness and excellence
    3. Jason and charise duet–very disappointing! Charise outshone the contestant. The piece itself does not bring Jason’s voice quality to the fore.
    4. Rence’s voice did not as well shine with his duet with joey ayala. The girl singing with them seems to over power his voice.

  2. Do you mind if I quote a few of your posts as long as I provide credit and sources back for your webpage?
