Kris feels bad not being Quezon City’s first lady: “Sobrang bongga sana ang mga programs!”
Actress, television host, and presidential sister Kris Aquino was the guest of honor during a Women’s Month event by the Quezon City Police District yesterday morning.
Instead of sharing her insights relative to the women’s month celebration as she was invited to do, Aquino spent most of her speech defending her brother President Benigno Aquino III from the deluge of criticism he has been getting following the brutal death of 44 PNP-SAF men in Mamasapano, Maguindanao last January 25. Of course, the actress is quite familiar in using speeches and interviews to call attention to herself and her family.

1. She has envisioned herself as Quezon City’s First Lady: Bemoaning that QC Mayor Herbert Bautista “broke her heart,” Kris said she already had in mind a lot of projects had their romance had a happier ending. “Sayang, kung nagkatuluyan lang (kami ni Herbert), sobrang bongga sana ang mga programs that I could have initiated with the private sector to help QCPD, most especially for your spouses and children. Oh well, move on na tayo.”
2. “Hindi nila kami mabubuwag” – In an obvious attempt to gain public sympathy, Kris acknowledged that the past five weeks had been among the toughest in her brother’s tenure so far. She said it’s hard for her, as Noynoy’s youngest sister, to remain silent while he is being attacked from all sides.
“Hindi nila kami mabubuwag. Pamilya kaming nagmamahalan,” she said, ignoring the fact that her maternal uncle is one of the loudest voices in the “Noynoy Resign” camp.
3. She praised her brother for implementing the Salary Standardization Law, but refused to acknowledge the president who initiated it – In support of her claim that her brother is not taking anything from the public coffers, Kris pointed out (citing figures provided by Senator Antonio Trillanes IV) that President Aquino actually increased the salaries of all uniformed personnel by faithfully implementing the Salary Standardization Law (SSL).
She however did not acknowledge the fact that the SSL was actually enacted as early as 2009 by her brother’s predecessor, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
4. “Dapat manatiling maganda, sexy, at mapang akit pa rin si misis.” – Curiously, Kris did not say anything related to the actual theme of the celebration she was invited for until near the end of her speech.
She said male police officers should take the time to thank their mothers for “the love and caring they showered you with.” She also told them to be faithful to their wives. “Wag naman dagdagan ang stress kung mambabae pa kayo!”
Meanwhile, she has this appeal to police spouses: “Alagaan nila ang mga sarili nila, makisig ang kanilang mga asawa, dapat manatiling maganda, sexy, at mapang akit pa rin si misis. Pag alaga ka sa sarili mo, walang dahilan para mag selos pa.”
