YAYA HACKED | Anonymous Philippines hacks Maine Mendoza’s Twitter account
Hackers from the group Anonymous Philippines took over the Twitter account of Maine Mendoza or more popularly known as “Yaya Dub” from Tuesday midnight until lunchtime. The DubsMash queen regained control of her account just in time for “Eat Bulaga,” where she and her on-screen partner Alden Richards are mainstays.
The group attacked the Twitter account of “Yaya Dub” to promote an upcoming event – the Million Mask March (MMM2K15) which is scheduled for November 5 in hundreds of cities all over the world, including the Philippines. The group will protest the continued crackdown on civil liberties particularly by the United States government.
Anonymous Philippines is known for hacking government websites to raise awareness for its causes, including criticisms of corruption in the government and opposition to the Anti-Cybercrime Law of 2012.
The group posted a tweet apologizing for “dropping by” Yaya Dub’s account, adding that they do not intend to control the page for a long time. Nevertheless, Yaya Dub’s fans were very vocal in slamming Anonymous Philippines through the group’s Facebook page.
