#WalangPasok – Class suspensions for July 9 2016 due to Typhoon Butchoy
Typhoon “Butchoy” (international name “Nepartak”) may already be moving away from the Philippines and closer to southern China, but it is still expected to enhance the southwest monsoon for much of Luzon.
According to the 5:00 PM storm bulletin of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the eye of typhoon “Butchoy” was located at 365 km Northwest of Itbayat, Batanes (22.3°n, 119.6°e) with maximum sustained winds of 150 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 185 kph. It is forecast to move northwest at 12 kph.
The weather bureau warned that Metro Manila as well as the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Zambales, Bataan, Mindoro, Pangasinan, and Calamian group of islands can expect monsoon rains tomorrow.
The possibility of heavy rains over the weekend has prompted certain local government units to suspend classes in their respective constituencies for July 9. This list will be updated as new information becomes available:

It states: “Students who are unable to report to class or participate in scheduled activities such as exams due to inclement weather shall be given consideration and be allowed to make up for the missed class or activity.”
