#WalangPasok – Class suspensions for July 8 2016 due to Typhoon #ButchoyPH
(UPDATE, 12:30 PM:) President Rodrigo Duterte has declared the suspension of classes in all levels for public schools in Metro Manila as well as work in all government offices, except those involved in disaster and relief operations.

As of 4AM, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) projected that Typhoon Butchoy is about 225 kilometers north-northwest of Itbayat, Batanes. It has maximum sustained winds of 195 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 230 kph.
Even as it moves away from the Philippine area of responsibility, typhoon “Butchoy” continues to enhance southwest monsoon or habagat which in turn is causing torrential heavy rains to different areas in Luzon. This prompted certain local government units have announced the suspension of classes in their respective constituencies for today, July 8.

It states: “Students who are unable to report to class or participate in scheduled activities such as exams due to inclement weather shall be given consideration and be allowed to make up for the missed class or activity.”
