Axe Philippines launches the Axe Anarchy Raid!

Viewers across the country felt bitin when Axe Philippines released its TV commercial for Axe Anarchy two weeks ago. The advertisement for Axe Anarchy, the first fragrance from Axe for both men and women, ran for less than thirty seconds.

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) edited out the remainder of the clip – and this is not because of steamy scenes between the characters. According to Presidential Decree 1986, the law that created the MTRCB, the board can delete objectionable parts of any motion picture (including advertisements) if it “serves no other purpose but to satisfy the market for violence or pornography,” among other reasons.

Axe Anarchy for both men and women – taking attraction to the next level!

Does the one-minute ad really display excessive violence? In one sequence, a man falls hard from his speeding motorcycle (with his helmet on, thank goodness). Shortly after, a wheelchair-bound man wearing dextrose (and without any companion) is shown crossing a busy road. Cars are crashing on one another, and windshields are getting shattered left and right Fire is blazing everywhere. And while some people are seen rushing to safety, others are getting ready for a kiss. You can watch the unedited one-minute clip below (courtesy of YouTube):

Since the MTRCB appeared to have overreacted when they chopped portions of the ad (causing lots of fans to be disappointed, understandably), Axe Anarchy girls were sent to Magic 89.9’s Boys Night Out to apologize and to give its hosts a good … massage. See excerpts of their bantering in the video below (once more, via YouTube):

And in relation to the launching of Axe’s new line of fragrance, the company is also announcing their latest treat for Filipinos – the Axe Anarchy Raid! To be held this June 9, 2012 in Libis, Quezon City’s Eastwood Plaza, the event will feature 100 of the country’s sexiest ladies acting as cops. To make this prey-and-predator game more thrilling, the lady cops will be chasing a hundred ordinary guys for a two million peso cash prize.

According to Axe Philippines, the game is open to all men of legal age “who are bold enough to be part of the 100 contenders” (whatever ‘bold’ meant. LOL). Acting as robbers, the men participants will be handcuffed and assigned a number. The lady cops will also be assigned their respective numbers each. Facing a myriad of wild obstacles and challenges, the “cops” must hunt down the “robber” with the same number as hers (lady cop #1 will chase robber #1, and so on). “The first pair to make a successful arrest will clinch the coveted prize in this no-losers game of fun and adrenaline-filled pursuit,” Axe Philippines added in a statement.

Axe Anarchy promises to take attraction to the next level. Try out the new Axe Anarchy now and join this year’s most exciting high-stakes chase. Check out www.facebook.com/axephilippines for more details and watch out for updates on the list of female celebrities who will enlist in the hunt.
