Registration schedule for UP Diliman’s midyear 2014 term

University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) has released the registration schedule for the 2014 midyear term, an abbreviated academic period that will run from early June until the third week of July. Some erroneously refer to this as a “second summer” period.

The Office of the University Registrar (OUR) outlined the schedule through Memorandum #14-20. Download the original document through this link.:

Submission of Class Schedules – May 26 to 30, 2014

In the memorandum, University Registrar Dr. Evangeline Amor highlighted that UPD students will not be able to pre-enlist their desired classes through the Computerized Registration System (CRS). This is intended “to give time for review of CRS modules that will be affected (by the academic calendar shift) and for necessary adjustments to be made.”

Given this, students are advised to contact their respective departments or colleges to inquire about the classes that will be offered during the period.

This midyear 2014 term will serve as a transition period leading to the implementation of the new academic calendar by August. Without it, the university is bound to have a lull period for June and July.

All UPD offices, including the libraries, will be observing their normal working hours during this period.

Early this year, all campuses within the UP System approved the shift of its academic calendar to August-July from the current June-May. The university’s Board of Regents approved the shift for UP Diliman last March.

According to UP Diliman’s academic calendar for 2014-2015, classes for the first semester would begin on August 7, with the enrollment period running from August 4 to 6.
