Tropical storm “Henry” not likely to make landfall in PH
Another weather disturbance is threatening the Philippines just a few days after typhoon “Glenda” battered provinces in Bicol and Southern Tagalog regions as well as Metro Manila.
Tropical storm “Henry,” international code name: “Matmo,” has been spotted 965 kilometers east-northeast of Siargao Islands in the extreme northeast of Mindanao as of Friday morning (Philippine time).

“Henry” currently carries maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers/hour (kph.) and gustiness of up to 85 kph. It is north-northwest toward the Philippine Sea at a speed of 7 kph.
Going by current projections, might not make a landfall in any part of Philippine soil.
According to the forecast, “Henry” will be nearest to the Philippines on the morning of July 21 when it will be 820 kilometers east-southeast of Sta. Ana, Cagayan in northern Luzon.
Public storm warning signals may be issued within the next 72 hours for provinces in northern and eastern Luzon.
At this point, it must be noted that tropical cyclones usually change directions very rapidly. Hence, it will be prudent to monitor the weather alerts to be issued within the next few days.
