#WalangPasok – Class suspensions for July 7 2015 due to tropical storm ‘Egay’
(UPDATED, 12:00 AM of July 7)
Despite gradually moving away of the Philippines, tropical storm “Egay” continues to affect not just Northern Luzon but region as far as Metro Manila and Southern Luzon as in enhances the southwest monsoon (habagat).
With that, certain local government units (LGUs) has announced the continued suspension of classes in their respective constituencies for tomorrow, July 7 (this post will be updated as soon as new information becomes available):

OTHERS:
Mapulang Lupa National High School in Valenzuela City
De La Salle University Manila’s Science and Technology Complex
University of San Tomas’ College of Commerce and Business Administration Building (St. Raymund de Peñafort)
In its 11:00 PM bulletin earlier today, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) estimated that “Egay” is 225 kilometers northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte. It has maximum sustained winds of 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph.
It is moving northward at 7 kph and is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility tomorrw. Public storm warning signal #1 is raised in the following areas:
Ilocos Norte, Batanes, Calayan and Babuyan Islands, Northwest of Cagayan, and Apayao.
Storm warnings previously raised in other areas are now lifted. Meanwhile, southwest monsoon (habagat) is affecting the western section of Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, Metro Manila, MIMAROPA, and CALABARZON. PAGASA warned residents of these areas to be ready for possible flash floods and landslides.
“Residents in mountainous and low lying areas of the provinces under PSWS #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides due to the tropical storm,” the weather bureau added. It also advised fisher folks and small sea crafts not to venture out over the seaboards of Luzon tomorrow.
The heavy rains triggered by tropical storm “Egay” prompted President Benigno Aquino III to suspend the classes at all levels as well as work in government offices Monday afternoon.
PS: Another weather disturbance from Pacific Ocean, typhoon Chan-hom, might enter the Philippine area of responsibility tomorrow at the earliest. If and when that happens, it will be given the local name “Falcon.”
