#WalangPasok – Class suspensions for July 27 2017

(UPDATE, 11:30 AM)

Even though it is not likely to make landfall in any part of the country, tropical storm “Gorio” is still expected to enhance monsoon rains in parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila and nearby provinces. Because of this, classes in certain areas is likely to be suspended for tomorrow, July 27.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has placed Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Pampanga, Bulacan, Zambales, Bataan, and Tarlac as of Wednesday night. This means that flooding is possible in low-lying areas and in communities near river channels.

NOTE: As of 11:30 AM, only two Metro Manila cities have not issued class suspensions for today, and they are Makati and Pasig.

Students and their parents should note that even if their respective local government units and/or school did not issue class suspensions today, the decision to attend classes or not ultimately lies on their hands.

According to CHED Memorandum #15 s. 2012, “even without the suspension of classes, students who are unable to report to class or participate in scheduled activities such as exams, due to inclement weather, shall be given consideration and be allowed to make up for the missed class or activity.”
