Burned out? Here are six must-try stress relievers

Many young professionals are experiencing stress due to different factors, although most of them are getting stressed and anxiety because of their busy schedules.

In the Philippines, call center agents are more susceptible to stress primarily because they work during the so-called graveyard shift. If you are one of these agents, you could definitely use some of the stress relievers listed below:

1) Take a Break

If you are feeling overwhelmed while doing your job, then that certainly tells you that you need a bit of a break from your responsibilities. Now, you may not be able to do this immediately when you are taking a call. But you could do some explaining to your team leader, and he/she will understand the predicament you are under.

2) Don’t drink too much coffee

Coffee and other caffeinated drinks are nice to take if you need some energy boost. But too much of it will for sure cause unnecessary anxiety to your already stressful day. If you could, try to limit drinking to just one cup of coffee per day. Instead, you could shift your drinks from caffeine to tea (for example).

3) Deep breathing

Practicing deep breathing is a perfect exercise you could do in order to calm yourself during stressful moments at work. Essentially, this is an effective stress reliever because it allows you to take on a natural pose. Plus, it makes you aware of your breathing, which means you could concentrate on it for the time being instead of all your worries.

4) Laugh

You know what they say “laughter is the best medicine.” By having some conversation and laughter with your friends at work, you’ll for sure release some endorphins – which are also known as happy hormones. These hormones will combat the anxiety and stress your body is experiencing.

5) Fidget spinners

In the first half of 2017, fidget spinners were all the rage. Its claim to fame is the benefits it can bring to ADHD patients. According to experts, it can help them focus and less stressed about their daily life. Unfortunately, some schools locally and internationally ban the use of them. But this, of course, does not mean that you can’t bring them to your workplace. Just image you using them while you are working until your shift end. For sure, this could help you with your anxiety.

6) Fidget Cube

Fidget cube is another version of fidget spinners. However, instead of having it spin, the user has multiple options to use so he/she could “fidget.” In fact, there are six functions to the fidget cube. The great thing about this is that it, along with the fidget spinners, are pocket sized, you could easily bring them to your office.

KEY TAKEAWAY

Through the methods listed above, Philippine call center agents could lessen and somewhat control the anxiety and stress levels they feel whenever they are working. Maybe not all of them could work, but you could try to find out which one will suit you best.
