#WalangPasok – Class suspensions for March 19 2018 due to the transport strike

(UDATED, 8:00 AM)

Several educational institutions around the country have announced class suspensions for Monday, March 19, due to the scheduled transport strike by the militant jeepney organization Pinagkaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operators Nationwide or PISTON.

In a statement, PISTON secretary general George San Mateo explained that his group will be staging another transport strike because of what they see as the government’s plan to phase-out jeepneys under the guise of a modernization program.
