Alan Cayetano promises P10,000 ‘ayuda’ for Filipinos in new ad: #BotongPinoy2022

Taguig City Congressman and former House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano and his remaining allies are touting a bill that they filed that seeks to provide a financial assistance of P10,000 to all Filipino families in a new television advertisement.

The slickly-produced two-minute ad of Roderick Oborza, a jeepney driver who is no longer earning as much as before because of the social distancing requirement imposed on public utility vehicles. “Kung makikinig lang po tayo sa ating mga kababayan, makikita natin na extraordinary ang problema kaya kailangan, extraordinary rin ang solusyon, at extraordinary rin ang pagkilos natin,” Cayetano said.

“There is no question that our people are still in desperate need of assistance. Let us rise to the occasion once again and come to the aid of our people by giving them an additional Php 10,000 per Filipino family. We ask the House leadership to act upon this urgent measure immediately, and help our people now that they need it most.

The government has the resources to do this, and even as they take care of the people, this will stimulate the economy and get us started on the road to recovery sooner,” Cayetano elaborated through his Facebook page.

Cayetano was later joined in the two-minute commercial by Representative Raneo Abu of Batangas, Representative Jonathan Sy-Alvarado of Bulacan, Congressman Dan Fernandez of Laguna, and Representative Luis Raymond Villafuerte of Camarines Sur.

Cayetano, a former two-term senator and foreign affairs secretary, is frequently mentioned as a possible candidate for the 2022 presidential elections though he is yet to announce his plans.
