Marcos leads Robredo by 33 points in latest Pulse Asia presidential poll – #BotongPinoy2022

Former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. maintains a 33-point lead over his nearest competitor, Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo, according to a survey conducted by polling firm Pulse Asia from December 1 to 6, 2021.

Over half or 53% of the survey’s 2,400 respondents indicated that they will vote for Marcos during the May 2022 presidential race, with Robredo securing the support of 20%. Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso and Senator Manny Pacquiao received the support of 8% each, while Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson has the support of 6%. Antonio Parlade, former spokesperson of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) has a rating of 0.01% while labor leader Leody de Guzman has the support of 0.004%.

Marcos’ huge lead over Robredo in this Pulse Asia survey largely jibes with the recent survey conducted by radio station DZRH of the Manila Broadcasting Company. In that survey, Marcos has the support of 49.2% while Robredo only has 16.2% – a similar 33-point spread. Domagoso is at third place with 10.4% while Pacquiao is at fourth place with 8.2 percent.

Despite the slew of disqualification cases filed against Marcos before the Commission on Elections, he appears to have benefited from the withdrawal of Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go from the presidential race as well as the decision of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio to be his running-mate instead of running for president herself.

On the other hand, the slight improvement in Robredo’s ratings can be attributed to her getting the support of voters who initially preferred Senator Grace Poe as well as those who leaned toward Domagoso for a while back when she was yet to declare her candidacy for president.
