#WalangPasok – January 21 2022 declared holiday in Tarlac City

Tarlac City will be celebrating its sixth annual Kaisa Festival this January 21, 2022. The day has been declared a special non-working holiday as stipulated in Proclamation 1279 which Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea last week. The local holiday will give those working and studying in Tarlac City a three-day weekend because it falls on a Friday.

Pay Rules For January 21, 2022 in Tarlac City

According to the 2020 DOLE handbook on workers statutory monetary benefits, the “no work, no pay” principle applies during special non-working holidays like the forthcoming Kaisa Festival in Tarlac City this January 21, 2022. This means that workers who are not required or permitted to work on January 21, 2022 are not entitled to any compensation unless there is a collective bargaining agreement or a company policy that provides for that.

The handbook likewise highlighted that employees who work during special non-working days are entitled to receive an additional pay of 30% for every hour that they render service.
