Public school teachers to receive P1000 as World Teachers’ Day incentive benefit

Teachers working in the Department of Education (DepEd) will be receiving P1,000 as a World Teachers’ Day Incentive Benefit this October.

Speaking to reporters, DepEd spokesman Michael Poa said:  “We will continue with the P1,000 incentive to honor our teachers.” This annual tradition started during the time of former Education Secretary Leonor Briones.

This financial benefit is included in the approved budget of DepEd for 2022. The allocation for DepEd in the National Expenditure Program for 2022 is uploaded in DBM’s website.

DepEd has not released guidelines as regards who are entitled to receive this incentive benefit, so it may be safe to assume that all public school teachers can get it.

It is likely that public school teachers will be receiving their P1,000 during the World Teachers’ Day on October 5 or soon after that date.
