#WalangPasok – April 16 2024 declared holiday in Marikina City

Marikina City will be celebrating its 394th foundation anniversary this Tuesday, April 16. The day has been a declared a special working holiday as stipulated in Republic Act 10788, which was signed in 2016 by then-President Benigno Aquino III.

The law likewise mentioned that April 16 is a no class day in all school levels throughout Marikina. Since April 16 is only declared a special working holiday, it means that those who will report for work on this day would not get additional pay.

Meanwhile, other local government units and education institutions around the country are expected to suspend face-to-face classes on April 16 due to extreme heat and the jeepney strike organized by transport groups Malayang Alyansa ng Bus Employees at Laborers (MANIBELA) and Pagkakaisa ng mga Samahan ng Tsuper at Operator Nationwide (PISTON).

The Filipino Scribe will be updating this post if and when additional information becomes available.

UP TO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL:

All public schools nationwide – those directly managed by DepEd

Negros Oriental – public and private schools, until lifted

Saranggani – Until April 19
