Unidentified gunman kills Emmanuel Jose Pavia, a teacher from Ateneo HS

Emmanuel Jose “Em-J” Pavia,  a teacher from Ateneo de Manila High School, was shot dead near his home in Barangay Barangka, Marikina City Monday night.

According to ABS-CBN News, Pavia was shot three times on the head by an unidentified gunman at around 7:00 PM. The teacher was rushed to the Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival.

Investigation on the incident is ongoing, but social media is already abuzz about the incident. Some speculated that his shooting may be related to the spate of summary executions and extra-judicial killing that are happening around the country since President Rodrigo Duterte ordered a massive escalation of the war on drugs.

Nevertheless, one Twitter user explained that Pavia’s death has nothing to do with it. “He (Pavia) witnessed an armed robbery on his way home to Marikina. He tried to help but he was shot three times in the head. He didn’t make it to the hospital,” the text on the image posted read.

  1. Ed Celia lakas tama mo…totally not related issue mo…sama kna lang Kay mar Roxas at magtravel blogs….bleh!

  2. Vicious criminals are now more emboldened to outrightly kill anyone who cross their paths. The NO 2nd Chance pronouncement and as encouraged by this administration has all the more tempered their resolve. If caught they stand no chance for jail time, due process is not for the poor anyway. THEY KNOW VERY WELL that for them – Its KILL OR BE KILLED. Giving them a dose of their own medicine seemed to back fire, they can always up the ante . . . after all they have not much to lose unlike the poor professor or any concerned citizen for that matter. WHERE HAS VIGILANTISM TAKEN US SO FAR ? Nowhere but square 1, only this time ITS FAR MORE VIOLENT !!!
