#WalangPasok – Class suspensions for October 13 2017 due to tropical storm Odette

Classes in areas across Northern Luzon are suspended for today, October 13, due to tropical storm “Odette” (international name: Khanun).

In its severe weather bulletin released 8:00 AM today, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration or PAGASA projected that the center of “Odette” in the vicinity of Calanasan, Apayao (18.0 °N, 121.0 °E).

“Odette” carries maximum sustained winds of up to 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 120 kph. It is moving west southwest at 24 kph. It is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) between tonight and tomorrow early morning.

PAGASA has raised public storm warning signals in the following areas as of 11:00 PM:

Signal #2 – (No classes for preschool, elementary, and secondary levels)
Batanes, Cagayan (including Babuyan group of islands), Apayao, and Ilocos Norte

Signal #1 – (No classes for preschool)
Isabela, Abra, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Benguet
