#WalangPasok – Class suspensions for 23 September 2023 due to volcanic smog

(UPDATED, 10:00 PM)

With significant parts of Southern Tagalog and Metro Manila are still experiencing poor air quality due to the combined effects of volcanic smog from Taal Volcano and pollution from vehicles, local government executives are expected to announce the suspension of classes for Saturday, 22 September 2023.

The Filipino Scribe will be updating this post when more information becomes available.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) has earlier warned those living in areas in the vicinity of Taal Volcano about the dangers of volcanic smog or vog.

“People who may be particularly sensitive to vog are those with health conditions such as asthma, lung disease and heart disease, the elderly, pregnant women and children. For communities that can be affected by vog, please be mindful of the following,” PHIVOLCS warned.

ALL LEVELS:
Parts of Cavite:
Imus, Naic
San Pedro, Laguna

Marikina City

UP TO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL:

St. Stephen’s High School-Manila
