#WalangPasok – Class suspensions for October 13 2023

(UPDATED, 11:45 AM)

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) has released a public advisory about the dangers posed by the volcanic ash released by Taal Volcano Thursday night.

In connection with this, it is likely that certain local government units (LGUs) will announce suspension of face-to-face classes in their respective areas for October 13, Friday, because of air quality concerns.

Also, in light of the earthquake that struck parts of Luzon this Friday morning, it is worth pointing out that according to Department of Education order #37-2022, classes should be automatically canceled in areas that experienced earthquakes with intensity 5 and up. LGUs can also suspend classes as they deem necessary.

The Filipino Scribe will be updating this post when new information becomes available.
