February 14 2024 declared a working holiday in Valenzuela City
Valenzuela City will be commemorating its 26th annual foundation day anniversary this coming February 14, Wednesday.
The day has been declared a special working holiday in Valenzuela City in accordance with Republic 9428, which then-President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo signed back in 2007. The former Valenzuela municipality was converted into a highly-urbanized city via Republic Act 8526 which was enacted in 1998 during the term of then-President Fidel Ramos.
It must be pointed out here though that President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. may declare the day as a special non-working holiday through a proclamation in the coming days.

According to the 2022 Department of Labor and Employment Handbook on Workers’ Statutory Monetary Benefits, employers are not required to give premium pay because work performed during a special work day like the foundation anniversary of Valenzuela this year is considered similar to working on an ordinary workday.
