Gov’t employees to receive P7000 for clothing allowance

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has announced that government employees can receive a clothing allowance of P7,000 starting this April 2024.

According to DBM’s National Budget Circular #1 signed by Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, civilian government personnel occupying regular, contractual, or casual positions; appointive or elective are eligible to receive the clothing allowance as long as they are rendering service for the government either on full-time or part-time basis.

The DBM explained that the clothing allowance “shall be granted to those who are already in government service and are to render services for at least six months in a particular fiscal year, including leaves of absence with pay.”

It was also stipulated that this six-month service requirement does not apply to those who are required to wear uniforms at all times while performing their duties such as Security Guard, Special Police, medical and allied medical staff in hospitals, and others in similar situations.
