A young talent has been prosecuted in connection with the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009. Arno Morales of ABS-CBN was arrested by operatives from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) after his ex girlfriend complained that he disseminated their private videos online.
A report by GMA News says that Morales, or Arno Udo Fermin Fuch in real life, was nabbed at his Quezon City residence Friday morning. His erstwhile lover, whose name has been withheld in news reports, complained that Morales sent nude photos of her to their school via email when she refused to reconcile with him.
Morales was charged for violating Republic Act 9995 which prohibits anyone from taking photos of video footages of a person or group of persons performing sexual act or any similar activity or to capture an image of the private area of a person/s … without the consent of the person/s involved and under circumstances in which the person/s has/have a reasonable expectation of privacy” (section 4.a).
The law imposes a penalty of imprisonment of up to seven years and as much as P500,000 in fines for guilty individuals. This scandal comes just a month after a similar video scandal involving two students from Cebu created an online buzz.
Born June 6, 1992 according to Candy Magazine, Morales played the role of Sarah Geronimo’s younger brother in the movie “Very Special Love” (2008) and “You Changed My Life” (2009). He was also a part of the youth-oriented show Star Magic Presents.
