The controversy that forced TV5 host and news anchor Paolo Bediones to quit his late night news program has resurfaced the past few days. The alleged third, fourth, and fifth parts of his sex videos are now circulating online.
The website JorPetz.com, for instance, uploaded the latest batch of videos here and here. Note however that Bediones’ face cannot be seen in both videos but as one website pointed out, the body type closely resembles the man in the previous videos.
The videos are all less than five minutes long, with the fourth one lasting for just 2 minutes and 43 seconds.
In a letter-complaint filed before the Philippine National Police’s Anti-Cybercrime Group, Bediones stated that the videos were taken five years ago and were originally saved in a laptop.
According to him, he received a blackmail letter about three months after he had that laptop repaired. “Hawak ko ngayon ang mga sex videos mo. Madali naman akong kausap! Kung ayaw mong lumabas ito sa publiko, tawagan mo ako,” the letter read.
Although his home network stood by him throughout the controversy, Bediones still decided to step down from his primetime news program with Cheryl Cosim.
“The question is, ‘Do you want to stop and let the whole world get ahead of you? Or do you want to stay on the bus and try to survive the bumpy ride?’ I have chosen to do the latter — try to survive the bumpy ride. What can you do? Life must go on,” he told veteran showbiz reporter Ricky Lo of Philippine Star.
A few weeks ago, The Filipino Scribe speculated that Bediones’ decision to admit that it was him on the sex video may be a good legal maneuver since this puts him in the position to assert his rights in relation to Republic Act 9995 or the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009.
