#WalangPasok – August 15 2016 declared holiday in Bulacan

Bulacan will be celebrating its annual foundation day holiday this coming August 15, 2016. This year’s “Araw ng Bulacan” holiday will create a three-day weekend for Bulakenyos since August 15 falls on a Monday.

August 15 is a special non-working holiday throughout the said Central Luzon province as stipulated in Chapter II of the 2007 Administrative Code of Bulacan. Read the said administrative code here.

Citing a research done by the Center for Bulacan Studies, The Philippine Star in 2011 reported that Bulacan was established as a province on August 15, 1878.

PS: If you plan to work on this particular day, take note of the fact that you are entitled to plus 30% of your regular hourly rate.

That is mandated by the Department of Labor and Employment’s Handbook on Workers’ Statutory Monetary Benefits (2010 edition).
