Batangas City will be celebrating its annual city fiesta this coming January 16, Monday. It has also been designated as Tourism and Cultural Day.
In relation to that, the said day has been declared a special non-working holiday as stipulated in President Rodrigo Duterte’s Proclamation 119, which Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea signed on his behalf last December.
The full text of Proclamation 119 can be seen in the image above. The holiday will effectively give those working and studying in Batangas City a three-day weekend.
Batangas City became a city by virtue of Republic Act 5945, which then-President Ferdinand Marcos signed in 1969.
