Filipino actor Paolo Contis trends on Twitter because of BTS’ J-hope and V. Seriously.

BTS members J-Hope and V became top trending topics on Twitter worldwide after they posted photos taken during a visit to The Leeum, Samsung Museum of Art in Seoul, South Korea Monday night (November 1). Amusingly, Filipino actor Paolo Contis also became a trending topic because of them. How did this happen, exactly?

J-Hope, whose real name is Jung Hoseok, uploaded a short video of himself behind “Mask II,” a work by Australian sculptor Ron Mueck. His bandmate V (full name Kim Taehyung) also posed with the said artwork. Although “Mask II” is widely regarded as Mueck’s self-portrait, Filipino netizens quickly noticed that the sculpted face has an uncanny resemblance to Contis.

Pinoy ARMYs even joked that the two South Korean superstars must have met Contis “as a friend,” referring to the actor’s widely-mocked description for starlet Yen Santos during their sojourn to Baguio City shortly after splitting with partner LJ Reyes.
