THANK YOU! – The Filipino Scribe records nearly 140,000 page views for July 2023

The news and commentary website The Filipino Scribe (TFS) recorded nearly 140,000 page views for July 2023 – its highest monthly total since October 2017.

The surge in site visitors can be attributed to the high demand for information regarding class suspensions toward the end of the month, especially in connection with President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s second State of the Nation Address and the onslaught of typhoons “Egay” and “Falcon.”

Having said that, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the loyal readers and subscribers of The Filipino Scribe for all your support! TFS has been around since March 2011 and because I am the only one writing for the site, it enters long stretches of inactivity when my professional work takes more of my time. However, since maintaining TFS requires me to pay an annual fee for domain and hosting plan renewal, I have to maximize the earning opportunity provided by Google Adsense. Of course, TFS is no longer the money-making juggernaut that it once was, but my goal is for it to be at self-sustaining at least.

Nevertheless, the past few weeks have shown that the website can still be profitable. Whenever the thought of “retiring” from blogging for good enters my mind, I suddenly find reasons to go on!

I cannot promise up to when this period of regularly posting fresh content will go on, but I can assure you that TFS is here to stay!
