#WalangPasok – Class suspensions for September 20 2023 due to the bar exams

The annual Bar Examinations will be held in different locations across the country this September 17, 20, and 24, 2023. In line with this, Mayor Maila Ting-Que of Tuguegarao City has announced the suspension of classes in all levels as well as work in government offices in her constituency since Cagayan State University has been chosen as one of the local testing centers for the bar exams.

The Filipino Scribe will be updating this post if and when other local government units also announce class suspensions for their respective jurisdictions. Several other education institutions had been chosen by the Supreme Court to serve as local testing centers for the bar exam.

In Metro Manila, San Beda University–Manila, University of Santo Tomas, San Beda College–Alabang, University of the Philippines–Diliman, University of the Philippines–Bonifacio Global City, and the Manila Adventist College were designated as testing centers.

Saint Louis University in Baguio City, University of Nueva Caceres in Naga City, University of San Jose–Recoletos and University of San Carlos in Cebu City, Dr. V. Orestes Romualdez Educational Foundation in Tacloban City, Ateneo de Davao University in Davao City, as well as Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro City will also serve as exam venues.

The bar exams will cover six major areas: political and public international law, commercial and taxation laws, civil law, labor law and social legislation, criminal law, and remedial law, legal, and judicial ethics with practical exercises. The results will be released after around six months.
