National Conference on Research in Teacher Education 2023 held in UP Diliman

The National Conference on Research in Teacher Education (NCRTE) 2023 was held at the University of the Philippines Diliman College of Education last October 26 to 28.

During the conference, I presented my paper titled “Advocating for History Education During the New Normal.” In the paper, I discussed the efforts to advocate for the reintroduction of Philippine History as a dedicated subject at the high school level.

That includes using social media to generate awareness and support from the public and by lobbying the Department of Education as well as legislators regardless of their political affiliation.

Thanks to the organizers of NCRTE Philippines as well as Mr. Benjo Basas of the Teachers’ Dignity Coalition (TDC) and Mr. Joey Dela Cruz of High School Philippine History Movement whose insights greatly strengthened my research!
