#WalangPasok – Class suspensions for April 2 2024

UPDATED as of 10:45 PM, 1 April 2024

Mayor Jerry Treñas of Iloilo City has announced the suspension of face-to-face classes from preschool up to senior high school for April 2, Tuesday, due to extreme heat.

In his declaration, Treñas added that the suspension of classes at the college level and beyond would be up to the discretion of their respective administrators.

It can be recalled that the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported the start of the warm and dry season in the Philippines shortly before the Holy Week. The agency likewise warned that different parts of the country will experience heat index of above 42°C, which the agency characterizes as dangerous.

The Filipino Scribe will be updating this post if and when other local government units and education institutions make similar announcements.

UP TO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS:

Bacolod City
Iloilo City
Parts of Negros Occidental
