Britney Spears to her Filipino fans: Maligayang Pasko!
Pop icon Britney Spears surprised her fans in the Philippines last when she wrote “Maligayang Pasko!” in her Facebook fan page early morning of December 26 (or 25 in the United States). The account has nearly 16,000,000 “likes” so far. The said post has received 8,858 “likes” and 2,135 comments as of this writing. Aside from English and Filipino, the Till The World Ends singer did not write a Christmas greeting in any other language.
Below are some of the comments:
“So nice to hear u speak Tagalog :))” – user Tiffany Brotzwell
“Thank you for greeting us Filipinos, pop princess Ms. Britney Spears!” – user Justin Xiu
“Nakakataba ng puso dahil sa dinami.dami ng pwede niyang batiin dito sa mundo tayo pang napili niya. Special yata tayong mga Pinoy ke Brit!” – user Miriam Gamboa
“That ‘Maligayang Pasko’ means a lot to us. :)” – user Lovely Condrado
“I love your music. Hope you come here in the PHILIPPINES soon… :))” – user Almar Segovia Dela Cruz
Britney Spears caused a stir among Filipino netizens in 2007 when she wrote in her song “Piece of Me” that she wants to “sneak away to the Philippines” to avoid American tabloid journalists. Last year, disk jockey Andi Manzano tweeted that Britney Spears would be coming to Manila for her Femme Fatale Tour – a claim that later on proved to be false.
See! Filipino language is growing. Britney Spears continues to be an interesting person.
Britney will always have her millions of fans worldwide, that’s for sure. 🙂
That was just an AUTO-TRANSLATE post from FB meaning if your FB is set to Malaysia, then the language/post will appear as MALAY.

But still, why did they do it in Filipino and not in other language?
When your FB is set to Philippines, it would auto translate in Filipino. If your FB is set on other countries, it would auto translate in their own language as well 🙂
why britney didn’t visit philppines on here femme fatale tour? I hope you visit our country!!!!
I really hope she does! We’ve been waiting for her for years!
