Class suspensions for December 9 2014 – #RubyPH

With Typhoon Ruby (international name Hagupit) projected to stay with the Philippine area of responsibility until Thursday morning, classes in dozens of localities will remain suspended for tomorrow, December 9. The Filipino Scribe will be monitoring the announcements as soon as they come.

Metro Manila -> Navotas, Quezon City, Pasay City, Pateros, Valenzuela City, Caloocan City, Las Pinas, Muntinlupa City, Marikina City, Makati City, Mandaluyong City, Taguig City, Malabon City, Manila, San Juan City, Pasig City

Region IV-A -> Cavite Province, Batangas Province, Rizal Province, Quezon Province, Laguna

As of 5AM today, “Ruby” is estimated to be at 50 kilometers northeast of Romblon, Romblon. In its latest weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that “Ruby” weakened further while crossing Sibuyan Sea.

Once a super typhoon, it now only has maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph. It is moving at 10 kilometers per hour. The weather bureau assigned the following storm warning alerts:

Signal #3

Burias Island, Marinduque, Romblon, Mindoro provinces, Batangas, Laguna, Cavite, Southern Quezon, and Lubang Island

Signal #2

Masbate, Ticao Island, Calamian Grp. of Islands Bulacan, Bataan, Northern Quezon, Rizal, Camarines provinces, Metro Manila, Semirara Island, Aklan, and Capiz

Signal #1

Sorsogon, Polillo Island, Zambales, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Albay, Pampanga, Catanduanes, Northern Palawan including Cuyo., Northern Samar, Iloilo, Antique, Biliran, and Bantayan Island

Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.
