Summer classes from April 13 to May 23 2015 – DepEd

The Department of Education (DepEd) has announced the conduct of summer classes from April 13 to May 23, 2015 for public elementary and high schools nationwide.

This is in accordance to Secretary Armin Luistro’s Department Order No. 14 for 2014, a copy of which is uploaded on this website. This schedule includes May 1, which is a regular holiday throughout the country.

Just like in previous years, the summer classes consist of three-hour daily sessions per subject area from Mondays to Saturdays. May 23 is the last day for the finals examination.

This six-week session gives students who flunked their classes during the regular school year a chance to move forward to the next subject offered without being delayed or in the same school year as their original batch mates.

DepEd plans to begin the preparations for school year 2015-2016 (set to begin on June 1, as mentioned in this blog post) during the last week of summer classes. The annual “Brigada Eskwela” is scheduled for May 18 to 23 while Oplan Balik Eskwela will be in effect from May 25 to 29.
