List of areas to be affected by water interruption in Metro Manila – Aug. 10 to 18 2015
Barangays in several Metro Manila cities will experience lengthy water interruptions between August 10 to 18.
According to an announcement by water concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, the company is realigning its seven-foot-tall water pipeline along Juan Luna St. and Hermosa St. in Tondo, Manila beginning August 10. This is meant to give way to the flood interceptor project of the Department of Public Works and Highways in Blumentritt, Manila. The project is meant to direct floodwaters from the northern parts of Metro Manila out to Manila Bay.
“The activity will involve exposing, dewatering, realigning, and energizing the seven-foot-tall water pipeline, which will take almost five days to complete,” the water company further said. Maynilad will be implementing a three-day gap between its scheduled water supply interruptions (August 10 to 13 and then August 17 to 18) to allow their customers to replenish their stock of water before the project is resumed.
