#WalangPasok – August 25 2021 declared holiday in Iloilo City

Iloilo City will be celebrating its 84th charter anniversary this August 25, Wednesday. The day has been declared a special non-working day in the city courtesy of President Rodrigo Duterte’s Proclamation 1200. The full text of Proclamation 1200 can be accessed here.

Iloilo City was created through Commonwealth Act 57 of 1936. It was signed by then-President Manuel Quezon. It was also during Quezon’s tenure when August 25 of every year was first designated as a special public holiday to celebrate the inaguration anniversary of Iloilo City.
