UNILAB admits shortage of their leading brands, contradicting govt’s assessment

Philippine-based pharmaceutical giant United Laboratories (UNILAB) has acknowledged that its leading brands are now out of stock in some drugstores around the country due to “extraordinary demand,” as reported by social media users in recent days.

The company’s announcement contradicts the assessment released just hours ago by the Department of Health that there is no shortage of supplies of paracetamol and other drugs for flu-like symptoms in the country despite the heightened demand from consumers.

“We assure you that we are working with our partner drugstores and retailers to accelerate replenishment at the soonest possible time,” UNILAB added in their statement. UNILAB products include Bioflu, Biogesic, Neozep, Dolfenal, and Medicol.

  1. Temporarily out of stocks IN SELECT DRUGSTORES do not mean they ran out of stocks. Logistics issues of replenishing drugstores could well be the only reason for the current shortages IN SELECT DRUGSTORES. Don’t panic people!
