CAREER UPDATE: I’m now a NBDB-registered author!

Last week, I received my certificate of registration as an author/writer from the National Book Development Board – Philippines (NBDB)!

This is in connection with my book “Right on the Mark: Selected Articles from The Filipino Scribe” which was released in 2021 through Mr. Irvin Vargas and his Book of Life Publication.

As I have said before, I wasn’t really intending to sell the book because for me, this published compilation of some of my writings is more of a passion project. Nevertheless, I am very grateful for those who got a copy of my book. I am looking forward to authoring (or maybe editing!) another book in the near future!

Interested individuals who have served as a book author, editor, translator, illustrator, and the like can apply for a certificate of registration from the NBDB. All you have to do is submit an online application form, a list of your works, as well as two government-issued IDs. Please refer to this page from their website to know more about the application process, which is free of charge as of November 2023.

Registered individuals can get numerous benefits including access to NBDB surveys, research materials, and books. publication in the website’s online registry, invitation to NBDB-initiated workshops, seminars, fairs, and other events.
