The idea of studying abroad might be a little bit terrifying for some, but for most people, it is one of the most exciting things they could do. Truth be told, studying in a foreign country is one of the most beneficial experiences a college student could get for a lot of reasons. Few of them are getting the chance to see the world and seeing new things they have never imagined exist. They will be surprised to see a brand-new culture and its history, unique terrains and beautiful sceneries, and they will get to meet a lot of amazing people that can help them expand their network.

However, studying abroad is costly. Together with the living expenses, one must also consider the tuition without compromising the quality of the university.

There are a lot of colleges and universities in the Philippines, and a few of them have constantly maintained or advanced their position to the World University Ranking. One of the upside of studying in the Philippines is that the tuition is cheaper than the other universities from other countries.
Here are the top 5 universities in the Philippines best suited for foreign students:

  1. University of the Philippines – Diliman

No matter how many opinions people have on their university being the best, everyone, even foreigners would agree to UP being the best in the Philippines. Simply because it is the PREMIER university of the Philippines. Only the most diligent students are accepted and considered. Staying in the University to earn a degree is even tougher. UP students are expected to perform at their best at all times. As the only national university in the country, the University of the Philippines System takes pride in being the pioneer in higher education through academic excellence, outstanding research, public service, and modernized facilities.

Being able to study in this prestigious university is one of the dreams of the smartest students in the Philippines. The entrance examination is tough and the grade requirement for freshmen is high.

However, the requirements for the admission of international students for the undergraduate program has been reduced to attract more foreigners which will in turn increase the diversity of the university.

Remember, there is always a reason why DLSU – time and time again – gets mentioned in job adverts, work promotions or indeed biographies. More so why DLSU never fails to be included in the global rankings of universities. The other local educational institutions could only admire or perhaps play catch-up with the pioneering and well-respected programs, facilities and system that DLSU offers. No wonder this is the home of the future visionaries and pioneers of the country. Education par excellence with a conscience.
